Dubai Sports Council Discusses Important Issues with Executives Directors of Clubs
Dubai Sports Council held yesterday an important meeting with Executive Directors & Departments Directors of Dubai Clubs to be acquainted with the clubs' preparations for the new sports season & to make sure that clubs will be able to attain the same positive results achieved during the last seasons.
The meeting, held in the Council's premises, was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharif Secretary General of the Council & attended by Executive Directors, Clubs Directors & Officials of the Cultural / Marketing Activities in the Clubs along with Directors of Departments in DSC.
The agenda of the meeting included several important issues; these are: deciding / financing the plan of the cultural activities for 2008/2009 season along with activating the organizational structure of the clubs / deciding a suitable marketing plan for the sale of the clubs' products.
The meeting tackled the possibility of appointing a specialized company in the field of financial auditing. for all clubs.
The meeting discussed the issue of the Sports Integration Project in Schools & studied the possibilities of activating the recommendations of the First Forum of Individual Games / First Forum of Group Games.
On the other hand, the meeting dealt with the construction of new facilities in the clubs along with other issues aiming to develop the standard of Dubai Clubs.
Dr. Al-Sharif confirmed that all clubs should give consideration to the cultural side as per the instructions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Vice President & Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Dr. Al-Sharif emphasized that the activities, which are included in the DSC's plan, should be applied and that each club should set a program to develop its cultural /social activities. Dr. Al-Sharif referred that applying of the said cultural activities will be considered in the clubs evaluation to be approved by DSC.
Dr. Al-Sharif said all clubs should fill their vacancies & should appoint Executive Director / Marketing Officer / Informational Officer. He added that employees in all clubs should precisely carry out their duties.
The meeting discussed the importance of appointing Marketing Office along with the possibility of marketing the clubs' products – tickets sales – in such way that clubs can be able to have financial revenues.
The Secretary General & Financial Director of DSC informed the Clubs Representatives with the decision of appointing specialized company to carry out the process of financial auditing for all clubs & that the clubs will be equipped with special financial system as per the needs of the professional league.
Discussions were also made about Sports Integration Project in Schools & its positive influence to develop the sports process along with the role to be played by DSC & Clubs to support the applying of this vital project.
The meeting stressed that all recommendations decided in the First Forum of Individual Games & the First Forum for Group Games should be applied.
Dr. Al-Sharif said that clubs should positively use the new facilities in the clubs particularly the swimming pools and added that DSC is keen to support clubs for maintaining the old facilities. The meeting also adhered that smoking should be prevented in the Sports Facilities & that cooperation should be made with Dubai Police to enhance security systems in the sports facilities.
