The Executive Office of Dubai Sports Council convened its 27th meeting Wednesday 30th May 2012 at the Council's premises, chaired by H.E. Mater Al-Tayer, Deputy Chairman of DSC & Chairman of the Executive Office.
The meeting – held in the presence of Executive Office's members – appreciated the distinctive organizational level for AFC Futsal (UAE 2012), arranged currently in Dubai, as per joint efforts exerted by DSC, Sharjah Sports Council and UAE Football Association.
The Executive Office referred that the fruitful cooperation among the above-mentioned three sports entities confirms the national integrating role, presented by local corporations to boost sports sector in UAE / enhance the country's sports status in continental & international fields.
The Executive Office's members discussed several current sports issues, parts of these are the elections of sports associations / clubs' performance in various sports activities during this sports season, taking into account that DSC proceeds – upon the end of each sports season – with scientific evaluation including accurate analysis for clubs' results aiming to decide percentage of development or deterioration in all competitions.
The Chairman & Members of the Executive Office wished that Al-Wasl Football Team be able to attain the GCC Clubs' Cup in order to keep the title in Dubai for the third successive year, taking into consideration that Al-Wasl got the last edition's title, while Al-Shabab attained the title two years ago.
The meeting tackled amendments, held by DSC's Strategic Planning Committee with respect to regulation of clubs & football companies' evaluation. In this respect, it is to be mentioned that clubs have raised several remarks during the 3rd meeting – convened between DSC & Board's Chairmen – by virtue of which revisions have been made on the evaluation regulation. It is according to the revised regulation; respective bodies have selected the best sports club & best football company and then awarded them during the Sports Excellence Ceremony, held last Oct., taking into consideration that all distinctive clubs have also been awarded during the ceremony.
The Executive Office has also approved the final report for 2nd group of "Hamdan Bin Mohammed Program for Sports Leadership", in which 32 male & female locals have been graduated to assume leading designations in sports corporations. The graduation ceremony was held in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, Chairman of "H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Creative Sports Award" and President of National Olympic Committee, who has instructed that several of the graduates to be recruited in the National Olympic Committee. In this respect, it is to be mentioned that DSC has decided to select some of the researches – submitted by the Program's associates – to put them in effectual implementation.
The meeting also discussed several other matters, scheduled in the agenda and adopted convenient decisions with respect to the same; part of these matters is the Sports Event Guide, issued by DSC twice a year, taking into consideration that the second edition of 2012's Guide to monitor & focus on sports events to be arranged from July to Dec. 2012; while the first edition of the Guide was allocated to sports event arranged from Jan. to June 2012.
The Executive Office dealt with details of constructing the International Center for of Beach Volleyball Development in Dubai along with several other memorandums & reports related to sports championships and events to be organized during the upcoming period.
